Coach Colin

My name is Colin Speer and I am the owner of Phoenix Private Training and Head Trainer. I have spent the last two to three years coaching with True Lacrosse North Carolina from the recreational level to the national level. In 2022, I officially started my own private training business while continuing with True. My playing history started at Wake Forest High School where I played my first lacrosse season ever as a freshman. By the end of my career I was All-State for Attack and Midfield and 3x Captain. Then, I was recruited to play at the University of Mount Olive (Division II), where I played two seasons at the defensive midfield position. I also have played for the semi-pro box team, Oak City Owls, which is out of Raleigh, NC. Recently, I transferred to UNC at Chapel Hill in the fall of 2022. At the university, I have been working with the Varsity lacrosse team as a volunteer/ manager in order to gain invaluable knowledge and experience.

At a young age, I have realized my calling isn’t playing the sport of lacrosse. It is teaching the next generation how to play the game we all love. This game has become my life and it is something I want to share with youth sports players. Coaching is my ultimate passion and I have given up a lot of opportunities to pursue a future in coaching lacrosse. My goal is to develop young players while prioritizing the player/coach and parent/coach relationship. I have been privately training athletes for a handful of years and have experienced coaching and training every position in lacrosse. I pride myself on maximum reps, intensity, and start-to-finish coaching during my sessions. Please join me in my efforts to grow the game of lacrosse in North Carolina!
